Hi, I am Debarati, a graduate student of The University of Texas at Austin, who was born twenty-two springs ago in the “City of Joy” Kolkata, the largest metropolitan city of Eastern India. The first twenty one years of my life were spent in the lap of the city, including four unforgettable years(‘Those were the best days of my life’) in Jadavpur University, from where I got a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (Gee, I am a lady engineer, a vastly minor group in India). It was last Fall when I migrated to the US (Yeah! Chasing the BIG American dream !!) and started missing my home and my city a lot. Also, I am by nature a very talkative person (a ‘chatterbox’ in more impolite terms) and find that I have something to say on any topic under the sun. Throughout my life, I have been blessed with a very lovely company of friends who have always lent a patient ear to my monologues. This website is a result of my incessant urge to put into words whatever thoughts come to my mind and my feeling of nostalgia for Kolkata. Whenever I can, I would like to spell out some of the random wanderings of my mind, sometimes in my mother tongue, and sometimes in my adopted ‘mother-tongue’.
